Connecting your social accounts for automatic publishing

How to connect your social accounts so scheduled posts publish on their own.

BWritten by the Brandmundo teamUpdated June 16, 2026

Connect a social account per brand and Brandmundo publishes scheduled posts for you — at their scheduled time, with no copy-paste step. Auto-publishing is part of the paid plans and costs no credits; on the free plan your scheduled posts stay on the manual reminder flow, so you publish them yourself when they're due. Auto-publishing covers Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and X; what publishes automatically vs. what stays on the manual reminder flow depends on your plan, the platform and the post shape, all spelled out below.

How to connect

Go to Settings → Channels and hit Connect next to the platform. You sign in with that platform and approve the access. Connections are per brand, so each brand publishes to its own accounts.

  • Instagram has two ways to connect. Connect Instagram (recommended) logs you in with Instagram directly, with no Facebook Page needed. Connect via Facebook Page is for an Instagram account you reach through a Facebook Page. Either way, your Instagram needs to be a Business or Creator account.
  • Facebook — you sign in with Facebook. If you manage several Pages, you pick which Page belongs to this brand right after.
  • LinkedIn — at connect time you choose whether posts go out as your personal profile or as a Company Page you admin.
  • TikTok & X — sign in and approve the access for the account you want this brand to post to.

What you need

  • For Facebook — a Facebook Page (not a personal profile).
  • For Instagram — a Business or Creator account. Connecting Instagram directly needs nothing else. The Facebook Page method also needs that account linked to a Facebook Page you admin. Switching a personal Instagram account to Business is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app.
  • For LinkedIn — either your personal profile, or admin rights on the Company Page you want to post as.
  • For TikTok — the account you want to post to (see the note below about TikTok's review).
  • For X — the account you want to post to.

What auto-publishes, per platform

Once an account is connected, scheduled posts publish automatically at their scheduled time, usually within five minutes. Until then nothing is locked in: you can edit, reschedule or cancel any time before it fires, and every scheduled post has a Publish now button if you don't want to wait. You can also pick Publish now straight from the composer's save menu to post a new idea to your connected channels right away, without scheduling it first.

PlatformPublishes automaticallyStays on manual reminders
InstagramSingle image, carousel, Reel, StoryText-only ideas
FacebookText, photo, multi-photo, video
LinkedInText posts, single-image postsDocuments / PDF carousels, polls, native video
TikTokVideo posts (see note below)Until TikTok approves our app
XText tweets, single-image tweetsThreads, video

A post shape a platform can't take yet — a LinkedIn poll, an X thread, a text-only Instagram idea — stays on the reminder flow with a clear indicator: you'll be pinged when it's due and post it yourself, like before. Same fallback as always.

A note on TikTok

TikTok requires Brandmundo's app to pass its review before posts can publish publicly. Until that clears, TikTok auto-publishing is coming as soon as TikTok approves our app — in the meantime a scheduled TikTok post may fall back to the manual reminder flow, so you publish it yourself in the TikTok app. You can still connect the account now; it switches over automatically once the review is done.

If publishing fails

When a post can't go out — an expired permission, a platform hiccup — Brandmundo retries a few times, then hands the post back to you: you get the normal “time to post” reminder, the post shows a Publishing failed notice, and you can retry or post it manually.

Reconnecting

Connections occasionally need refreshing when their access expires. When that happens, Settings → Channels shows a Reconnect prompt and auto-publishing on that platform pauses until you reconnect (queued posts fall back to reminders in the meantime). LinkedIn, TikTok and X refresh from time to time. Instagram connected directly refreshes itself, but can lapse if a brand goes a couple of months without publishing. Facebook (and Instagram connected through a Facebook Page) don't expire this way.

Trouble connecting Instagram or Facebook?

Most connection problems come down to one of a few things. Check these and try again:

  • Use direct Instagram login. If you only want Instagram, the Connect Instagram option skips Facebook Pages entirely and avoids most of the issues below.
  • Instagram must be Business or Creator. A personal account can't publish through the API. Switch it in the Instagram app under Settings, Account type and tools.
  • You need to be a Full-control admin of the Facebook Page. If your Page is managed through a Business Portfolio, being the business owner isn't enough on its own. Open Meta Business Suite, go to Settings, Pages, your page, and give your own profile Full control.
  • Keep every Page and permission selected. On Facebook's approval screen, leave all Pages and permissions ticked, even ones you aren't connecting. Unticking any of them blocks Brandmundo from finding your accounts.
  • For the Facebook Page method, link your Instagram to the Page. The Page needs a linked Instagram Business account before Instagram can connect that way.

Disconnecting

Hit Disconnect in Settings → Channels. Queued posts on that platform aren't lost — they revert to reminders, so you publish them yourself. For Instagram and Facebook, removing the Brandmundo app inside Facebook's settings has the same effect.

What Brandmundo does with the access

Only one thing: publish the posts you scheduled, when you scheduled them. It never posts anything you didn't schedule, and you can revoke the access at any time from Settings → Channels.
