Troubleshooting: my ideas feel repetitive

What to adjust when your batches start feeling samey, so the variety comes back.

If your batches start to feel samey, something in the loop needs a nudge. Brandmundo already works against repetition behind the scenes — it remembers your recent posts and avoids repeating their angles, and it downweights recipes you keep skipping. Here's what you can do on top of that, roughly in order of impact.

1. Swipe honestly — it's the biggest lever

Every like and skip teaches the system. Recipes you like get sampled more; recipes you skip get throttled, and after repeated skips they nearly vanish. If similar ideas keep appearing, the most effective fix is simply to swipe left on them — don't let them sit. The learning is per-brand and permanent.

2. Adjust your content mix

In Settings → Preferences you can rebalance the seven content categories — educational, promo, story, mood, reactive, humor and engagement. If everything feels like a promo post, pull promo down and push story or humor up; the next batches will allocate their slots accordingly.

The content mix controls in Settings → Preferences with the seven categories

Capture: Settings → Preferences scrolled to the content mix section, all seven category controls visible (educational, promo, story, mood, reactive, humor, engagement). Light mode, crop to 16:9.

3. Steer the batch directly

  • Custom instructions — add a note in the generate panel like “more varied angles, nothing about our opening hours” or “make these funnier”. It applies to that batch only.
  • Reference link — paste a URL (a new product page, a blog post, a news story) and the batch grounds itself in that topic instead of the usual territory.
  • Occasions — theming a batch around an upcoming event is an instant change of scenery.

4. Refresh the inputs

Generation can only be as varied as what it knows about you. A thin brand profile produces narrow ideas — so flesh out your posting playbook, add audience segments, fill your products & services catalog, upload photos to your media library, and check that all the platforms you actually use are enabled with a healthy set of formats. Batches anchor ideas to those real things — more of them = more variety.

One stale card, not a stale batch?

Use the retry button on the card itself — it regenerates just that idea with a fresh angle, free of charge.
